Note: You must be logged in as a PAID member in order to purchase tickets via the TOUR section.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the Summer 2009 Bob Dylan tour most of the following does not apply to those tour dates. Club Cherry Bomb is not offering any tickets, packages or perks on this tour since John is not the headliner.
Tips for Purchasing Tickets: Make sure your credit card has the available funds. Depending on your bank, you may want to call to alert them to the possible purchase so they don't flag the purchase and deny it. The charge will listed as being from Etix.com on your statement.
Make sure you join Club Cherry Bomb a few days before the presale of the show you want to attend begins in case you have any problems signing up and paying for your membership.
Make sure to read this Frequently Asked Questions list completely.
Make sure to check JohnMellencamp.com and ClubCherryBomb.net often for Tour/Ticket updates.
Ticket Sales Policy:
QUALITY OF TICKETS: It is very important to us that Fan Club members are satisfied with the ticket program we provide. We do everything possible to get as many high quality tickets as we can for every show. What we get is dependent on each venue, concert promoter and management. In general, we offer a very high standard with the quality of our tickets. Additionally, we now are able to tell you your exact seat location when you purchase most types of tickets. This will take away any worries about the quality of the seats you have just purchased.
HOW WE SELL THE CLUB TICKETS: Depending on the show and venue, we sell our Fan Club tickets through either Ticketmaster.com or our own private ticket store powered by Etix. In both situations, the Club TOUR page is your central location for the times and links to the presales. For Ticketmaster.com presales, once logged in as a PAID member, the Club TOUR page will have a personal/exclusive password that will allow you to purchase one set of tickets per show via Ticketmaster. For Etix presales, the Club TOUR page will have a special link for PAID members once logged in that takes them into the Club Ticket Store. Both of our ticket sellers offer you the ability to see your exact seat locations and will ship the tickets to your door in advance of the show. There are ticketing and handling fees that apply to all ticket orders. Please read further in this FAQ for more details on how to buy tickets.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
EVENT POSTPONEMENT: If an event is rescheduled, your tickets will be good for the rescheduled performance. If an event is completely canceled, please see below.
EVENT CANCELLATION: If an event is completely canceled after the Club tickets have shipped, a refund will be issued and you will be contacted with any applicable instructions. Updates are always posted on the NEWS page of ClubCherryBomb.net
SHIPPING: Most tickets will be shipped 1-3 weeks before the show. Updates are posted on the CLUB NEWS page when each show is shipped out.
CHECK YOUR TICKETS: It is your responsibility upon receipt of your tickets to immediately examine your tickets to ensure they are for the proper date.
KEEP YOUR TICKETS IN A SAFE PLACE: Tickets can not be replaced if they are lost, stolen or damaged. Exposure to sunlight or heat can damage tickets. Store your tickets in a cool dry place.
NON-TRANSFERABLE: Concert Ticket Packages/tickets are non-transferable. They are for the personal use of the Fan Club member. Packages/tickets may not be resold whole or in part for any reason. We reserve the right to cancel packages/tickets/memberships of anyone who is found to be selling their package/ticket in whole or part. We actively monitor Ebay and other auction sites for scalper activity.
Q: What are the various ticket presale and package offerings that are available?
A: Fan club ticket offerings vary from tour to tour. For exact ticket package offerings, prices, presale dates/times and other associated information, please check the Home Page, News and Tour pages of ClubCherryBomb.net often.
The Club ticket limit is typically 2 to 4 tickets per show per member, depending on the show and tour. Families can have multiple memberships to order tickets, however we cannot group seats together. The ticket limit will vary at times, and details will be posted on the club website when tickets are offered for a show/tour.
The Club often will offer more than one price level of tickets whenever possible. This is done to give members as much choice as possible. We offer tickets in multiple price levels in order to make sure that as many club members as possible can attend any given show. Be sure to read the ticket description closely, paying particular attention to the ticket price in relation to our other offerings, to make sure you buy the type of ticket you want. Also, when available, please check any seating chart shown in the check out process to help choose the price level ticket you want to purchase.
The fan club has a fixed number of tickets at each show we can sell in each price level, so it is possible that demand for tickets from members could be higher than the total amount of tickets we are offering and a presale sell out could occur.
There are NO refunds for memberships if you don't end up with tickets, as there are many other membership benefits besides ticket access that your membership gives you access to.
There will be at least several hundred tickets available for each show. We will offer as many seats as we can but we can not guarantee enough for every member, so be sure to try to purchase your tickets through the presale right away when they go on sale!
Occasionally, there will be times we will be able to continue to offer tickets to club members after the public on sale for tickets. When this occurs, details will be listed on the Club website.
Q: How do I buy tickets? How does the presale work?
A: You must be a PAID member to purchase Fan Club Tickets. You will need to JOIN or if you are already a Club member, look for the UPGRADE or RENEW links if you are NOT a PAID member
Be sure to read the complete TICKET FAQ for all of the details and rules of our ticket program before purchasing tickets.
To check your membership status visit the MY PROFILE section. If you are a FREE, TRIAL or expired PAID member you need to hit UPGRADE
To access the presale you will visit the TOUR page
On the TOUR page you will see a list of shows. If you are logged into the site and are a PAID member, you will see a BUY NOW link for each show with a presale
Depending on the show, when you click BUY NOW once the show is available, you will be directed to either Ticketmaster.com or the Club Ticket Store powered by Etix. Please note the buying process is different for each show.
If the show you want to purchase tickets for is being sold via Ticketmster.com, we suggest you pre-register on their site with all of your information to speed up your purchase process.
If you have any trouble getting the BUY NOW link to appear on the new TOUR page try logging out of the site, closing your browser, then coming back to the site, go to the TOUR page, while still not logged in, click the LOGIN link on the TOUR page and then return to the TOUR page. Then you should see the BUY NOW link. If you continue to have trouble try a different web browser like Internet Explorer 7 or FireFox 2.
TICKETMASTER: For Ticketmaster.com Club Ticket Sales here is the purchase process:
On the Club TOUR page will be your personal Ticketmaster password. Note: Your password is unique and valid for only one purchase per show so be sure to keep it private. It is associated with your fan club membership in the Ticketmaster system. Ticketmaster passwords will be posted on the Club TOUR page the night before the presale begins.
Clicking the BUY NOW link will take you into the Ticketmaster.com store.
Choose the show you wish to purchase
When prompted, enter your personal/exclusive ClubCherryBomb ticket password.
Select the ticket type and quantity you want.
Review your seat locations.
You have two minutes to begin your checkout process.
Proceed through the Ticketmaster.com purchase/check out process as directed.
ETIX: For Club Ticket Store via Etix shows here is the purchase process:
Clicking the BUY NOW link will take you into the Etix Club Cherry Bomb Ticket Store
Find the show you want tickets to and click BUY.
You will be taken to the show purchase page, it will have info about the show you are interested in, read it carefully. When tickets go on sale a BUY TICKETS button will appear on this page.
The BUY TICKETS link will appear exactly at the time we announced the sale to start on this page. Keep hitting refresh in your browser until you see the link.
Use the selector box to choose how many tickets you want to purchase for the show.
If your show offers Exact Seat Locations (and not all do), the location of the tickets you have requested will appear on screen after you enter in how many you want
You have 15 minutes to complete your purchase
If one type of ticket is unavailable, the system will give you a message saying no tickets are currently available, this means that all tickets of that type are in users' shopping carts but have not been completely processed. You can continue to try to buy tickets in case someone does not complete their purchase. Once a particular type of ticket is no longer available, the store will change its message to SOLD OUT. If this is the case, you can try to purchase another type of ticket.
If you have any problems with your purchase email help@mellencamp.com and we will answer as promptly as possible. You can also learn more by reading the Club Message Board and seeing what other fans are saying.
Q: Will the fan club offer tickets for shows outside of the U.S.?
A: Yes. If John plays shows outside of the U.S. we will do everything we can to offer tickets to those shows. Watch the web site for details for shows outside of the U.S. if they develop.
A: Club Cherry Bomb will be using Ticketmaster.com to sell and ship fan club tickets
for the 2008 Summer Tour. They will be the primary source of answers for specific ticket order questions depending on who you order through.
For Ticketmaster.com purchases, their website answers most questions and provides ways to contact them regarding your order.
General questions about buying tickets or the club should be sent to help@mellencamp.com and not the ticketing office. You can also use the form at the bottom of this page to submit your question.
This is for questions related to orders ONLY. You will not be able to make purchases via the phone or e-mail. Please do not call or e-mail with questions about tour dates, cities, show times, etc., as they will not be able to assist with those questions.
Q: What is the location/quality of fan club seats?
A: The club can and will offer a variety of ticketing options when possible. The typical fan club tickets are located, but not always, in rows 2 through 30 from the stage. In general, tickets should be in center sections within 30 rows of the stage. We cannot guarantee center sections but we do request them from promoters and management whenever possible.
Depending upon a number of factors (venue configurations, season ticket holders, VIP seats, box seats and how many fan club tickets sold) there will be occasions where fan club seats will be in the side sections or in other areas of the venue. Be sure to read the ticket description very closely when buying tickets in the Ticket Store for complete details about the tickets you are purchasing.
In some markets with extremely high demand, the club will offer tickets not only in the first/top/highest price level (closest/best seats) but also in the second price level, or the second best type of seats. We offer second price level tickets to make sure that as many club members as possible can attend the shows. The fan club has a fixed number of tickets at each show that we can sell in each price level so it is possible that demand for tickets from members could be higher than the total amount of tickets we are offering. Naturally, we recommend club members purchase the top price level tickets for maximum enjoyment and only if those are sold out should they buy lower price level tickets.
Q: Some tickets HAVE to be picked up at will call?
A: Yes.
In an effort to better serve all of our PAID members and to deter scalper purchases of Club tickets, we have implemented the following presale ticket rules:
ALL VIP package seats and, typically, ALL tickets in front of the stage sold through the Club in rows 1-10 will be picked up at will call only. Read the TICKET OFFERINGS page to see the exact rows for each show that are will call only, as it varies per show, and can be as many as 19 rows. The tickets must be picked up at the box office on the night of the show (show your order confirmation and photo ID). NO mail delivery of these tickets will be allowed. Picture I.D. is required. No Exchanges, Name Changes or Refunds allowed.
Q: Tell me more about the fan club ticket program.
A: John's tour staff began offering tickets to fan club members almost 15 years ago. They liked putting some of John's most devoted fans up front at his shows. Additionally, this helps these fans get the closer seats without having to stand in long lines, depend on on-sale luck or use ticket brokers.
John's management provides the fan club with SOME (and at times most) of the best seats available in the venue. The Club does not get all of the best tickets. At most shows, there are tickets just as good as those going to the fan club going on sale to the general public. However, is it much easier to get high quality tickets from the fan club than through buying tickets with the general public.
Please consider that with some shows having hundreds (and possibly over 1000) fan club tickets not everyone can have the closest seats (i.e. Chicago, Indianapolis, New York etc.). Additionally, there will be shows where we will have to turn away fan club ticket orders due to a lack of tickets available. We do everything we can to prevent that from happening.
The size of the show also changes how many tickets we can offer to the fan club. Shows with small numbers of tickets (theaters, clubs, casinos) will limit the total amount of tickets we are allowed to offer, thus leading to quicker sell outs of fan club tickets. Larger outdoor and arena shows will have more tickets available for club members.
We do not provide fan club tickets to put everyone in the front row. We provide fan club tickets to allow John's most devoted fans the opportunity to get good tickets without the hassles of buying tickets with the general public and taking the chance of being left out by a sold out show, or left with nose bleed tickets. This service allows fans to buy HIGH QUALITY tickets in the better sections of the venue.
In past years, fans who bought tickets on their own from public ticket outlets were often turned away when tickets went on sale by concert sell outs. Some fans were then forced to pay extremely high prices for second-hand tickets. The random luck of public on sales also mean that very often devoted fans might have poor quality tickets. The Fan Club Ticket Program gives fans a way to avoid these problems.
John's staff works very hard to get the fan club good seats. The quality of your seats will ALWAYS vary from venue to venue, show to show.
Q: I want to buy tickets to more than one show. Can I do this on one checkout?
A: No. You must complete a separate purchase for EACH show. You cannot buy multiple shows in one check out. This is because each show has to be shipped out separately and needs a separate order number.
A: Many debit cards have a daily purchase limit regardless of available funds. If you receive a decline on a large purchase, please contact your authorizing bank. We apologize for any inconvenience.
A: If you received an e-mail order confirmation, your payment went through. Please make sure the email address on file when you joined the fan club is working and valid.
Q: Why do I get an error message for "invalid credit card" when I try to purchase tickets?
A: There are several reasons why you may be getting an error. First, check again to make sure that all of the information was filled in completely with no errors. The name needs to be keyed in EXACTLY as it is on your credit card. Also, the billing address must be the same as the one for your credit card. The credit card number must be entered with NO SPACES OR DASHES. If all this information is correct, then your card may be expired, or you may have insufficient funds for your purchase. If you are still having trouble, try contacting your bank.
Q: My show was cancelled. How long will it take for my refund to appear on my credit card?
A: Credit card companies vary on the time it takes for a credit to appear on their customer's records. Please allow one to two billing cycles for the refund to appear on your statement.
A: Your ticket purchase DOES NOT include special parking, and does not allow entrance into the employee parking area. If you choose to park at the venue, you must enter the main parking gate that is for all ticket holders.
A: Yes, if time allows for us to get the tickets to you in time. If there is not enough time to ship the tickets to you, we will put them at will call to be picked up at the venue night of show. If your tickets are going to be at will call, you will be contacted by e-mail letting you know this. Contact the ticket seller you purchased your tickets through if you do not have your tickets a week before the show. Contact help@mellencamp.com if they do not fully satisfy you.
Q: Are these tickets better than I can buy at from the public on sale or the venue?
A: In general, yes. John's management provides the fan club with SOME of the best seats available in the venue. The club does not get all of the best tickets. At most shows there are tickets just as good as those going to the fan club that go on sale to the general public. Those tickets are much harder to get than buying them through the fan club.
Q: I missed out on the tickets. Can I go on a waiting list if anyone cancels or you get more?
A: We are sorry we don’t maintain waiting lists; we suggest you watch the Club Cherry Bomb website for notices if more tickets are made available to a show through the club.
A: Yes. You are typically limited to 2 or 4 tickets per show, per member. A household can have more than one membership. This ticket limit may vary from tour to tour and between the different ticket options we offer. Be sure to check the details listed on ClubCherryBomb.net for specifics.
Q: Who can help me at the show if something is wrong with my tickets or my tickets are not at the box office?
A: Fan club members should have the box office contact the assistant tour manager. They will be able to resolve most fan club ticket issues. They are not there to hear complaints from fans that their tickets are not close enough or requests for backstage passes. They are only there to help with issues about your tickets not being there, incorrect amount of tickets, etc.
Q: The ticket package I bought says it includes a voucher for use in the John Mellencamp online store. How do I get that voucher and how do I use it? I also am a PAID Club member, I know there is a discount in the store, how do I get it and what exclusions apply?
A: Your membership or ticket package voucher will be emailed to you approximately two to four weeks after you make your purchase. To use the voucher click the STORE link on ClubCherryBomb.net to enter the John Mellencamp Online Store powered by FanFire.
PAID Club Cherry Bomb Club Members receive a 10% discount on selected items from the online store. To receive this benefit, you MUST first log into the Club Cherry Bomb site and then click the "STORE" link on ClubCherryBomb.net. You will now see discounted prices on items (you will only see the discounted price, not the original price).
Your voucher, as well as your the discount for a PAID Club membership has the following exclusions:
PLEASE NOTE: The discount applies to most items in the store, but from time to time due to reasons beyond our control, certain items cannot be discounted. During check out you may see a box that lets you enter a promo code. You do not need to enter anything into this field. Your discount was automatically calculated on all items when you entered the store, as long as you're logged in as a PAID member.
The voucher is only valid for merchandise sold through the FanFire store. This means it is not applicable to items sold through Amazon.com or Pictopia (prints, music, books, DVD's etc.).
Put the items you wish to purchase in your shopping cart, during the check out process you will be asked to input any voucher or coupon codes. At that time, your total purchase amount will reflect your deduction from the voucher.
If you ordered a VIP ticket package and did not get your voucher email tickets@fanfire.com for help.
Q: How do I find the location of my seats? How are seats assigned?
A: When you enter how many tickets you want, their exact section/row/seat location will be displayed. Seats are first come, first served by the system. Certain types of tickets we offer may not allow us to give you exact seat locations. That will be noted on the ticket description when you purchase them.
A: Please refer to the question in this FAQ called Who do I contact if I have questions? for full details on how to contact Ticket Help. Please be sure that you did not order a type of ticket that requires pick up at the box office night of show.
Q: I am going to be on vacation when the tickets are mailed out, or I am traveling to a number of shows. How do I get my tickets?
A: Please contact Etix or Ticketmaster depending on who you ordered through, and ask them what options they offer. Please refer to the question in this FAQ called "Who do I contact if I have questions?" for full details on how to contact Ticket Help.
Q: Any chance of getting backstage passes with our tickets?
A: No, the fan club members do not get backstage passes with their tickets. Watch the Club website for contests to win backstage passes when we are able to offer them.
Q: How come I was ordering tickets and was told there were no tickets available, yet my friend bought great seats from you after I tried to order? Can I go on a waiting list if more tickets become available? or I purchased a ticket earlier, but now I see there are better seats open. What happened to "Best Available"?
A: When you are choosing tickets, they are pulled out of the available inventory for a short time, and then released if they are not purchased. If someone has chosen tickets before you, but later decides not to buy them, they are released back for sale.
Q: Is there a limit on how many shows I can attend with fan club seats?
A: No, members have the opportunity to purchase tickets to all shows offering fan club tickets. However, for shows sold through Ticketmaster via a personal password please note that a password can only purchase one set of tickets per show.
A: All seats are assigned. Any tickets purchased in your order will be seated together. We cannot put your set of tickets next to someone else's at the show if they purchased their own set of tickets.
